Frequently Asked Questions about our reusable ice sculpture moldsAre the ice sculpture molds reusable??YES!!! Icecraft's internationally registered patented moulding system and designs (registered in more than 23 major countries) and the quality materials and expertise used in their manufacture guarantee the purchaser years of use and the production of hundreds of ice sculptures from each Icecraft ice sculpture mould. About Water Quality for ice moldsWater qualities vary around the world but almost all water supplies approved for drinking will give great results. If the water is very inferior, there are many inexpensive filters available (cotton, charcoal, carbon etc. through which to run the water when filling the ice sculpture moulds.) Crystal clear ice sculptures are usually only achieved by circulating the water with small pumps as it freezes. 99% of customers around the world are happy with the results they get without going to that extra trouble. Top hotels and establishments in over 110 countries are using these the normal, easy, 'fill & forget' way and are delighted with the results. Freezer RoomsYou must use a freezer room (or chest freezer for smaller pieces) - a cold room will only chill, not freeze. Freezing times vary according to the temperature setting of the freezer and whether the freezer doors are constantly being opened and closed - minus 20°C is probably the most common temperature setting. As a rough guide allow about 24 hours for moulds of lesser volume, 48 hours for medium size and 72 hours for the large ones. Filling the moulds with pre-chilled water (or pouring the water into the mould onto some crushed ice) will shorten the freezing time considerably. Colouring Ice SculpturesColouring Ice Sculptures easily tinted by just adding a few drops of food colouring when filling the mould. It is best to keep the colour very light so that it 'fuses in' and retains the delicate icy look.Enhancing your Ice SculpturesThe display of flowers, fruit, bottles of wine, even balloons - chefs will have a million ideas - they are trained for this. If you wish you may un mould the ice sculpture before fully frozen - the hollow thus made in the base allows you to light the sculpture from inside its base section. Lasting Time on Display of ice sculpturesThis is influenced by a number of factors such as

Know-how - making an ice sculptureSo simple to use - ANYONE can do it! Just use commonsense - follow the simple instructions… Assemble the mould inner lining and the outer casing, fill with water - leave to freeze - remove from freezer and unmould. You can contact us 24hrs a day/ 7 days a week for helpful advice if needed. Store Ready made ice sculpturesSculptures can be made in advance from the 1 mould and stored in the freezer room. As long as the freezer room is efficient, these can be stored for many weeks and will remain in good condition if covered with plastic bags so that the air flow form the blowers/fans is not blowing onto the surface of the ice which can erode detail. Litreages/Volumes/Weight of ice sculpturesWe have a separate info sheet with the volume of all our pieces listed (from which you can calculate weight of ice also.) Drip Trays for display of ice sculpturesClick here to view Icecraft's own range of attractive drip trays to suit all reusable ice sculpture molds. Freezer BlanketsTo wrap around and preserve the sculptures during delivery to a venue but is also handy within the hotel for draping over sculptures or seafood etc 'til the guests come in, preserving the detail and extending its useful display time. Just soak in water, then freeze. The freezer blanket is reusable. Custom Ice Sculpture MouldsWe can give a quote on any design required. As a guide, if the design is not going to be included in our range, and remains exclusive to the client, then we cannot recover set-up costs over a large number of sales. Consequently the price is usually two to three times the cost of a standard mould. This covers sculpting, making of the master-mould, re-engineering if required after freezer testing and supply of the first mould. Any further moulds of that design are then provided to the client at a substantial reduction. "Can I set up my own business producing and delivering the ready-made ice sculptures?"Certainly. We ask no franchising or license fees to use the technology, no royalties, no minimum purchases of moulds, no obligations re your pricing structures etc. We offer advice and assistance all the way.
